And then, the place blows up with comments like "What is the world coming to?" and "I'm sorry that no one cares about the Bible anymore, God." And then pretty soon, we have the rebuttal - a pink cross on a red background, with captions like "God created the equation."
It's a hot topic, I get it.
And to be honest, it's a subject that I've struggled with over and over and I still don't know where I stand on the issue of homosexuality in the church. BUT, I do know where I stand politically. I don't think the government should get to say who can and can't get married. It's a religious controversy, but morally, I can't find any reason why it is not okay. And as a country that believes in religious freedom, I don't believe we should be forcing non-believers to live by Christian rules.
The rest of it, within the church, that's still up for debate with me. I've heard good arguments both ways, I've done lots of research, and lots of reading my Bible, but I'm still not sure. But I do know that even if it is a sin, we all are sinners. We don't have the right to judge people because they struggle with different sins than we do. God is the one who gets to judge us.
